30-Day Skincare Challenge for Glowing and Flawless skin

Everyone wants glowing and flawless skin, but the question is what are you doing about it?

For you to get the skin you desire, you need to put in the time and effort. This means that you deliberately take actions every day that will transform your skin.

So, for the next thirty days, we are going to up our skincare game. Can I hear a loud “yay”?

I am really excited about this because I know from experience, the kind of changes you would notice after we are done with this challenge.

So, let’s get started….

Day 1 – Get your skincare house in order

You need to take stock of all your skincare products.

Throw out those you do not use and those products that are past their expiry dates.

Go shopping for the necessary products you do not have at home. You need a cleanser, toner, eye cream, face serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Day 2 – Cleanse the right way!

There are chances that you have been cleansing/washing your face the wrong way and that’s why you have skin blemishes.

I bet you are thinking “how is that possible? I have been taking my bath since I was a kid.” It is very much possible.

There are rules you need to follow like never using hot or cold water on your skin, using the right product, applying soap/cleanser in a circular motion from down upwards, rinsing your skin thoroughly, and at the same time making sure you do not stay long in the shower to avoid drying out your skin, etc.

Day 3 – Clean your makeup brushes and tools.

When last did you take time out to clean your makeup brushes and tools?

Your brushes should be washed every day once you are done applying your makeup. Dirty brushes are good breeding grounds for germs. Moreover, dirt sticks to these brushes.

So, whenever you apply makeup with a dirty brush, remember, you are spreading germs and dirt all over your skin.

Day 4 – Get cozy with your face mask

One way to pamper your skin is by applying a face mask.

There are different masks you can apply, for example, sheet masks, exfoliating masks, peel off masks, sleep masks, hydrating masks, etc.

You can decide to make your face mask yourself. Read this article to find out how you can do that: Super-Effective DIY Face Masks for Glowing Skin

Day 5 – Exfoliate

When you exfoliate your skin, you scrub dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This allows new and healthy skin cells to grow in their stead.

You should exfoliate thrice weekly. You can make use of scrubs or chemical peels – whichever you are comfortable with.

You can also try home remedies like honey and sugar, or ground coffee, aloe vera, and cucumber.

Day 6 – Show your eyes some love

It is a must that you take care of your eyes.

Why?

The skin around your eyes is the thinnest and most fragile. Also, one of the places that shows early signs of aging are your eyes. Most times, wrinkles show up first on the skin around your eyes.

So, make sure you get an eye cream that you apply on your eyes every day. Protect your eyes from the sun with sunglasses when you step out.

Day 7 – Treat yourself to a homemade spa

This is the seventh day of taking deliberate actions to take care of your skin.

For a job well done, you deserve to treat yourself to a homemade spa, or better still, go to a real spa.

The idea is to pamper your skin. Treat yourself to a day of care and relaxation.

Day 8 – Let your sunscreen guard your skin

Ultraviolet rays from the sun are one of your skin’s biggest enemies.

They stimulate the actions of free radicals which damage your skin. Constant exposure to the sun can also cause premature aging, pigmentation, uneven skin tone, etc.

To avoid all this, make sure you have a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 and above. So, when you go out today, apply your sunscreen.

Day 9 – Let your face serum do all the work

If you do not have a face serum, then you are depriving your skin of a whole lot of goodness.

A face serum is a lightweight moisturizer with a high concentration of active ingredients that helps to treat skincare problems. They are very effective and give fast results.

So, do not forget to apply your face serum today.

Day 10 – If you have a skincare problem, treat it.

If you want glowing skin, then you need to first get rid of all the skin blemishes on your skin.

So, whatever it is, acne, black spots, eczema, stretch marks, etc., just make sure you have a product that can treat that specific skin problem.

Also, make the necessary lifestyle changes that can help you get rid of the problem quickly.

So, if it is acne, for example, do not forget to apply your anti-acne product today.

Day 11 – Give your lips some tender, loving care

While you are showing love to every other part of your body, do not forget your lips.

Your lips need to be exfoliated and moisturized also.

Get yourself a lip balm to keep your lips moisturized all day long. Also, you can gently exfoliate your lips with honey and sugar too.

Day 12 – Go non-comedogenic

Comedogenic products are products that clog your skin pores and eventually cause acne.

It is important that you go through your products (both skincare and makeup) and make sure that they are non-comedogenic.

Make sure they do not contain ingredients that clog the skin pores. Also, watch out for the label non-comedogenic on your skincare product.

That way you can be sure your skincare or makeup products will not give you acne.

Day 13 – Relax and de-stress

Today, we enter the I cannor come and go and kee myself mode.

Stress can trigger acne. It also makes you look older, tired, and pale. So, take out time to relax today.

You can hang out with friends, sleep, sit still in silence, meditate, watch a movie, read a book – whatever relaxes you.

Also, avoid anything that can stress you out.

Day 14 – No soft drinks, just smoothies

Look away from that bottle of cold soft drink, no matter how tempting it is. Sugary foods can contribute to acne and other skin blemishes. They are not good for your skin.

Instead, take a cup of chilled smoothie. Enjoy the goodness of bananas, pineapples, apples, watermelons, and other fruits.

Day 15 – Moisturize your skin like a baby

One way to keep your skin smooth and soft like a baby’s is to moisturize your skin.

So, today, take out time to moisturize your skin. Do not rush the process. Make sure every inch of your skin is well-moisturized.

Massage your skin with the moisturizer and make sure that it is fully absorbed into your skin.

Your skin will thank you for this later.

Day 16 – Look in the mirror and appreciate how beautiful your skin is becoming

You are halfway there.

For fifteen days, you have taken good care of your skin. Look in the mirror today and appreciate just how beautiful your skin looks. Notice the changes that have occurred in the past few days.

These will give you the drive to continue with this challenge and also, boost your self-confidence.

Day 17 – Get your beauty sleep

Depriving yourself of sleep can cause skin problems like under-eye circles and puffy eyes. It also makes your skin look tired and pale. It takes the spark away from your eyes.

So, get enough sleep. Six to eight hours a day is just fine.

There is a reason why it is called beauty sleep. You wanna know why? Sleep for eight hours tonight and your skin will tell you why when you wake up.

Day 18 – Steam your face

Steaming your face helps to unclog your skin pores. It removes dirt, dust, and other particles that are clogging your pores.

It also makes it easy for skincare ingredients to get absorbed into your skin.

All you need to do is boil a pot of water, transfer the water to a bowl, put your face over the bowl of water, and drape a towel over your head (make sure your face is not too close to avoid burns.)

Do this for about five minutes.

Day 19 – Detox your skin

To detox, focus on drinking lots of water, eating fruits and vegetables, and ensuring that whatever you ingest is good for your skin. These help to flush out toxins from your skin.

You also need to double cleanse, that is, you wash your face with an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based cleanser. The oil-based cleanser helps to remove oil-based impurities like excess sebum, makeup, pollutants, etc.

The water-based cleanser removes water-based debris like dirt and sweat.

After these, you exfoliate and then, moisturize.

Day 20 – Avoid unhealthy foods

Stay away from sugary foods, highly glycemic foods, processed foods, carbs, etc.

Instead eat foods that contain iron, zinc, vitamins, protein, and other nutrients that keep your skin healthy.

If you have the craving for a milkshake, pizza, bread, etc., today, take a nutritious and balanced meal instead.

Day 21 – Drink lots of water

Today is dedicated to drinking lots of water.

Make sure you take at least seven cups of water today. Water hydrates your skin from the inside out. It also washes away toxins from your skin and stimulates the growth of healthy skin cells.

So, take a bottle of water as you go out and keep sipping it throughout the day.

Day 22 – Step out without makeup

Your skin needs to breathe! Applying makeup every day prevents it from doing that.

The layers of makeup can clog your skin pores and make it easy for dirt to stick on your skin. Also, if you do not remove your makeup properly, the residue can cause acne.

So, it is important that thrice a week, you go makeup-free.

Day 23 – Get your body moving

You need to exercise your body.

It stimulates the circulation of blood, oxygen, and other nutrients to your skin. It also helps to keep your skin firm and prevent sagging.

Take out thirty minutes of your day and exercise.

Day 24 – Eat, drink and apply your Vitamin C

Vitamin C does a lot of good to your skin, from removing skin blemishes to fighting aging signs.

So, you can eat your vitamin C in fruits, or drink the juice from these fruits or apply skincare products that contain Vitamin C.

You can even do all three. Remember, the goal is to get vitamin C to your skin.

Day 25 – Try natural remedies

Try some natural remedies today, instead of your skincare products.

You can use aloe vera, honey, cucumber, coconut oil, diluted lemon, olive oil, avocado, etc. You can use coconut oil for moisturizing or make a mask from banana, avocado, and honey.

Just go natural today.

Day 26 – Let antioxidants stand guard

Antioxidants help to fight against free radicals that damage the skin.

Free radicals can cause your skin to age quickly. So, make sure you apply a skincare product that contains antioxidants to guard your skin throughout the day.

You can also eat your antioxidants.

Day 27 – Eat fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables provide your skin with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and in shape.

So, eat a bowl of fruits in the morning, and end your day with a bowl of vegetables at night.

You can juice your fruits and your vegetables if you want. Either way, your skin gets the nutrients it needs.

Day 28 – Avoid anything that will damage your skin

Try to stay away from anything that can damage your skin. This includes sun rays, smoke, dust, etc.

Also, stay far from anything that can irritate your skin and cause skin reactions. The goal here is to guard your skin to prevent damage.

Day 29 – Get a skincare routine that you will follow strictly

The challenge is coming to an end.

You need something that can help you maintain the glowing and flawless skin you have achieved so far.

You need a skincare routine.

This is basically how you take care of your skin every day, in the morning, and at night. You need to fortify your skin with the powers of a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, eye cream, face serum, and sunscreen every day.

Following a skincare routine protects your skin from damage, provides your skin with nutrients, removes skin blemishes, and so on.
